چکیده
Information theoretical tools are applied for the study of the sensitivity and selectivity enhancements of resistive fluctuation-enhanced sensors. General considerations are given for the upper limit of selectivity enhancement. The signal-tonoise ratio and information channel capacity of fluctuation-enhanced chemical sensors is compared to that of classical sensors providing a single output. The considerations are done at the generic level with a few concrete examples and include the estimation of scaling relations between the sensor size, speed of measurements, sampling rate, measurement time, signal power and noise power.

Thickness Dependence of Sensitivity in Thin Film Tin Oxide Gas Sensors Deposited by Vapor Pyrolysis
Transparent SnO2 thin films were deposited on porcelain substrates using a chemical vapor deposition technique based on the hydrolysis of SnCl4 at elevated temperatures. A reduced pressure self-contained evaporation chamber was designed for the process where the pyrolysis of SnCl4 at the presence of water vapor was carried out. Resistive gas sensors were fabricated by providing ohmic contacts o...
متن کاملNew approaches for improving selectivity and sensitivity of resistive gas sensors: A review
Resistive gas sensors are very popular and reliable but suffer from low selectivity and sensitivity. Various methods have been suggested to improve both features without increasing the number of sensors in gas detection systems. Fluctuation enhanced gas sensing was proposed to improve gas detection efficiency by analyzing low-frequency resistance fluctuations, and noise parameters can be more i...
متن کاملModification of mesoporous silica SBA-15 with different organic molecules to gain chemical sensors: a review
The recognition of the biologically and environmentally important ions is of great interest in the field of chemical sensors in recent years. The fluorescent sensors as a powerful optical analytical technique for the detection of low level of various analytes such as anions and metal cations have been progressively developed due to the simplicity, cost effective, and selectivity for monitoring ...
متن کاملSensory and Memory-Based Path-Planning in the Egocentric Reference frame of an Autonomous Mobile Robot
This paper describes a path planning system using combined information from memory and sensors in a egocentric map. This technique enables autonomous mobile robots to use optimal path planning techniques such as the resistive grid. Using an egocentric map solves the self-localisation problem for mobiles robots and facilitates the reading of potential gradients in the resistive grid because the ...
متن کاملThe Study of Pure and Mn Doped ZnO Nanocrystals for Gas-sensing Applications
ZnO and ZnO: Mn nanocrystals were synthesized via reverse micelle method. The structural properties of nanocrystals were investigated by XRD. The XRD results indicated that the synthesized nanocrystals had a pure wurtzite (hexagonal phase) structure. Resistive gas sensors were fabricated by providing ohmic contacts on the tablet obtained from compressed nanocrystals powder and the installation ...
